Like other documents, foreigners will be re-issued when they lose their work permit. According to the provisions of Vietnamese law, administrative penalties are only applied to cases which foreign workers do not have the work permit or have the expired work permit.

For re-issuance when losing work permit, you need to prepare these below documents:
+ Within 03 days from the date the employee discovers that his/her work permit is lost or damaged, he/she must report it to the employer/enterprise.
+ Within 05 days from the date the employer/enterprise receives the foreign worker’s notification that the work permit is lost or damaged, the employer must submit the documents to the provincial Labor Administration where the work permit has been issued to obtain a new work permit.
+ Processing time for re-issuance Vietnamese work permit is 03 days from the date receipt of complete documents. If the documents are incomplete and invalid as required, the competent authority will not re-issue the work permit but will reply and clearly state the reason.
In case of re-issuance the lost work permit, the validity on the re-issued work permit will be equal to the validity of the issued work permit minus the time the foreign worker has worked up to the time of applying again the work permit.
Validity of Vietnamese work permit as prescribed is not more than 02 years.
