Do Sint Maarten citizens need visa to visit Vietnam ?

Sint Maarten citizens require visas to entry Vietnam. People can apply Vietnam tourist or business evisa depends on your purposes. If you want to travel or visit friends you can apply for tourist evisa. If you want to work or doing business you will have to apply for business evisa.

Vietnam tourist evisa and business evisa are issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department which is also called Vietnam visa online or Vietnam visa on arrival. The tourist and business evisa are available in 1, 3 and 6 months periods. The evisas also have the choice of single or multiple entries for applicant to choose. Multiple entries visa allows you entry and exit Vietnam several times during your visa validation. Single entry visa only let you entry Vietnam once. It means, as long as you leave the country, your visa will be cancelled, and you cannot come back again unless you apply for another visa.

How to get Vietnam visa in Sint Maarten?

There are 2 ways for you to get a Vietnam visa as a Sint Maarten citizen:

1. Apply for your Vietnam visa in a Vietnam Embassy / Consulate:

As there is no Vietnam representative office in Sint Maarten at the present, please check other countries to find the nearest Vietnam Embassy / Consulate to contact. Sint Maarten passport holders are required visa to Vietnam. However, Vietnam has not had any embassy or consulate in Sint Maarten yet. Therefore, applying Vietnam visa with Vietnam Immigration Department may be the best option for Sint Maarten citizens.

In case it is so inconvenient for you to come in person to a Vietnam embassy, applying for a Vietnam visa by post is recommended. However, please contact the embassy in advance to check whether you can obtain a Vietnam visa by post or not.

2. Apply online to get visa on arrival Vietnam

Vietnam Immigration Department and Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs are the only two government organizations which are authorized to issue Vietnam visas, and, you can apply for Vietnam visa with any of them. Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs issue normal visas as you usually see in the passport. Vietnam Immigration Department issues evisa which you will receive an approval letter by email.

Applying with Vietnam Immigration Department you must arrive by air for the first time, then when you depart to other country and come back, you can come back by any type of transports. This option is only accepted by multiple entries evisas. If you hold a single entry evisa, you cannot come back in again, and you will also not being accepted at the other border unless it is an international airport.
