Yes, Hong Kong citizens need to apply for visa to enter Vietnam There are 3 ways to apply: Visa at the consulate, Visa On Arrival and E-visa. Each one has …
Both Visa On Arrival and E-visa can be applied online. Just use a laptop or cellphone with internet connection, you can easily apply online at home. However, when you surf the internet with key word “vietnam visa”, you will immediately jump into the jungle of visa travel agents. They try to advertise their product with variety of ways, so you will be confused and don’t know which one is reliable, which one is good.
Fake website:
A few websites are fake, and they only try to collect your money without providing any visa letter. There are a lot of emails sending to us to ask about their visa status, even they apply with another website. After checking, we found out that the letter is fake. If the applicants use it to fly to Vietnam, they must come back to their country again. Most of fake websites are in Pakistan, India and Australia (The real cases we receive from customers’ email). They are travel agents in these countries. They collect money from the customer with a high price, and then give the customer a fake letter.
Expensive website:
In fact, most of websites you see in the internet can provide visa to Vietnam, but the price and service are different. Some websites collect more money, but their service is not good. Some websites have a good service, but the price is too high. For example, the price for a one-month single entry visa is 6 USD for a good visa service, but you can see some visa website set it up to 12 or even 20 USD. Recently I received a customer mail, asking about his visa status. He applied with vietnamimmigration.com.au for a single entry 1 month, which costs him 39 USD for processing (It would take only 6 USD if he applied with good website). For a couple of days, he still not received any information about his visa order. I cannot firmly confirm about this website service (whether they can provide the visa letter for him later or not), but the price they collect (39 USD) is too expensive.
Another notice, there are no government websites providing Visa on arrival, so all websites with .govt (like vietnamvisa.govt.vn) are not official.
Hidden fee websites
There are many websites setting the low cost in their first page, but the real fee you pay for them is much more than what they show. You should note that the fee for applying Vietnam visa for different nationalities is not the same, so the tip is: when you apply visa online in a particular website, if you have to make payment before choosing your nationality, that website is hidden fee website. They will charge you extra fee after collect your first payment. For example: vietnam-evisa.org, vietnamvisa.org, applyvisavietnam.com, etc.
Depending on customer feedbacks and recommendation through visa advise pages, we recommend these two pages:
This website domain is evisa, but they provide all services related to Vietnam visa, including e-visa, visa on arrival, visa extension, visa renewal, and work permit. They provide Vietnam visa service for all nationalities, so no matter which nationality you are, you still can apply with them.
They process visa very fast. While other websites need 2 working days for process visa, this website just 1 working day, sometime a half day to send your visa letter through email (without extra fee). Their staff is very friendly and great support to customer, even at late night. He also provides extra information of Vietnam (such as transportation, food, travel guide, etc.) for free (from customers’feedback)
The price of this website, as I checked, is also the lowest one, no hidden fee. One month single entry visa on arrival letter cost 6 USD, multiple one cost 8 USD.
Therefore, I strongly recommend this website for those who need visa to Vietnam.
This is the local website for US citizen. If you are US, you should apply at this website. The price in this website is also cheap (the same as the vietnam-evisa.com), no hidden fee as well, and it is professional for US. Their service is also great. They take care the customer very well and their service is also very fast.
From 2015, this website is expanded, and provide visa service for all nationalities.
