Current time in Vietnam:
Electronic Visa

Singaporeans are able to apply for a Vietnam electronic visa from 2025

At a meeting in May, the National Assembly of Vietnam just passed a new policy about Electronic visas for people from Singapore. During this meeting, a lot of new policies were passed. The most important one is that Singapore is now one of the countries that can apply for an electronic visa to Vietnam. Vietnam thinks that more Singaporeans will visit in the future because of this change to visa rules.

1/ From 2023, Singaporeans will be able to get an electronic visa for Vietnam

In 2017, the Vietnamese government started a program that lets people from 46 countries visit Vietnam for short stays for certain reasons. This was the first time that this was possible. But Singapore isn’t on the list of countries that can get a Vietnam electronic visa, so people from Singapore can’t get one at that time.

To help the tourism industry, the government of Vietnam has talked about and agreed to add Singapore to the list of countries that can apply for an electronic visa to Vietnam. From August 2023, Singapore card users will be able to get an electronic visa for Vietnam.

Now, Singapore card users can get a Vietnam visa without making an appointment at the Vietnamese embassy or consulate. They can get an electronic visa for Vietnam from the comfort of their own homes by filling out an online form that usually takes 10 minutes to finish.

Any of Vietnam’s foreign ports of entry can be used by people from Singapore to get into the country. Singaporeans who have an electronic visa are free to travel by any means and can get to Vietnam by air, road, or sea. When a Singaporean gets to a border point, all they have to do is show their ID and a printed electronic visa.

People from Singapore who want to travel must follow the times on their electronic visa and leave the country before their electronic visa expires. Vietnam electronic visa can be accepted for leisure, business, working, transportation, visiting family, and many other reasons.

2/ Vietnam Electronic visa Requirements for Singapore Travelers

In fact, the electronic visa system has a simple form that people from Singapore can use to apply for a visa to Vietnam online. Singaporeans should pay attention to the needs of the Vietnam internet visa application before they start the online form.

Singaporeans who want to visit Vietnam can apply for an e-visa if they meet the following requirements:
