American citizens the same as many citizens in the world need visa to Vietnam. United States of America passport holders either can apply Vietnam visa on arrival (Vietnam evisa) with Vietnam Immigration Department on this website OR apply Vietnam visa with Vietnam embassies in the America.

How to get Vietnam visa in America?

There are 2 ways for you to get a Vietnam visa:

1. Apply for your Vietnam visa in a Vietnam Embassy / Consulate:

You can come in person to the Vietnam embassy in your country and you will be instructed step by step on how to apply for a Vietnam visa there. By this way, you have to come directly to the Vietnam embassy at least two times. The first time you come there is to submit required documents and the second one coming there is to get your Vietnam visa.

2.  Apply online to obtain an approval letter to pick up your Vietnam visa at Vietnam international airports (in case you travel by air to Vietnam)

To apply for a Vietnam visa, please follow the simple steps as below:

– Visit our website www.vietnamimmigration.com to fill in the online application form.

– Make payment for us (service fee) as per instructions.

– Obtain your visa approval letter via our email.

What are conditions for applying Vietnam visa online?

If you apply online for Vietnam visa which is called Vietnam visa-on-arrival or Vietnam e-visa you should have two passport photos and an approval letter to show to the custom at Vietnam international airport when you arrive.

Visa-on-arrival only enable for air travel, not sea or road travel. Therefore if you plan to travel to Vietnam by sea you should find the nearest Vietnam embassy in your area to apply for visa.

How can I get the approval letter so I can come to Vietnam with visa-on-arrival?

You can come back to the “APPLY VISA” button and fill in the application form, select the processing time options and pay for a service fee then we will help you to get the approval letter. The approval letter comes from the Vietnam Department of Immigration that allows you to enter Vietnam without visas. In fact, you will have you passport stamped at the airport as what we called “VISA-ON-ARRIVAL”. You will need to find a visa-upon-arrival (or landing visa) desk to stamp you passport.
