Vietnamese Government Approves Resumption of International Flights to Reopen Tourism Industry

Vietnamese government has agreed to gradually reopen international routes for foreign tourists to enter Vietnam for tourism purposes from November 2021. Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ninh will be piloted to welcome international tourists from November 2021.

Accordingly, flights from key markets such as Korea, Russia, Australia, China, Europe, etc. will be gradually reopened from November 2021. Flights will be operated by charter flights or international commercial flights, and gradually increase frequency through 2022.

International tourists can buy air tickets and register for a package tour from a Vietnamese travel agency, apply visa and enter Vietnam to travel. After entry, foreign tourists must quarantine for a full 7 days at a designated hotel, then can travel on their own or travel on a previously registered tour.

Conditions to be able to enter Vietnam for tourism during this period require:

• Must have vaccination certificate with full 2 doses approved from the Vietnamese side
• Must have a negative Covid test 72 hours before flying by RT-PCR method
• Must have return air ticket and travel program after entry
• Must apply for tourist visa and book quarantine hotel (made by Vietnam travel company)
